1.0976 Steel standard is EN 10149-2, also known as S355MC Steel.

 

Chemical composition:

- Carbon (C): 0.12%

- Silicon (Si): 0.50%

- Manganese (Mn): 1.50%

- Phosphorus (P): 0.025%

- Sulfur (S): 0.020%

- Chromium (Cr): 0.30%

- Nickel (Ni): 0.50%

- Molybdenum (Mo): 0.10%

- Copper (Cu): 0.15%

 

Mechanical properties:

- Tensile strength (Rm): 430-550 MPa

- Yield strength (Rp0.2): 355 MPa

- Elongation (A): 19%

 

Applications:

1.0976 steel is mainly used for high-strength cold-formed structural parts, such as supporting structures for car bodies and chassis, bridges, mining equipment, buildings, and pressure vessels.

 

Condition:

1.0976 steel is commonly available in hot-rolled, cold-worked, and heat-treated conditions.

 

Advantages:

- High strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.

- Good low-temperature toughness, suitable for use in extreme environments.

 

Disadvantages:

- Higher cost.

- Lower forging and processing performance.
