1. Corrosion Prevention
Surface Protection
Coating Inspection: Regularly check the anti-rust coating (e.g., zinc-rich primer, epoxy paint) for cracks, peeling, or blistering. Damaged areas expose the steel to moisture and accelerate corrosion.
Prompt Repairs: For minor coating damage:
Sand or grind the affected area to remove rust and loose paint (use 80–120 grit sandpaper).
Clean with acetone or alcohol to remove oil and debris.
Reapply the same type of primer and topcoat within 4 hours to prevent re-rusting.
Heavy Corrosion Treatment: For severe rust (e.g., pitting or thick rust layers):
Use shot blasting to achieve Sa2.5 standard (leaving a metallic matte surface).
Apply a two-coat system: zinc-rich primer (≥80μm) + epoxy topcoat (≥150μm).
