1. Corrosion Protection

Surface Coating:

Apply anti-corrosion coatings (e.g., zinc-rich primer, epoxy paint) to protect against atmospheric corrosion.

For offshore or high-humidity environments, consider hot-dip galvanizing or duplex coatings (zinc + paint).

Rust Removal:

Treat minor rust with sandpaper or power tools; use shot blasting for severe corrosion, followed by immediate priming.

2. Storage and Handling

Environment: Store in dry, ventilated areas; avoid direct contact with water or moisture.

Stacking: Use wooden pallets or steel supports to elevate plates ≥10 cm off the ground. Stack layers with spacers to prevent scratches.

Inspection: Regularly check for coating damage or rust, especially at cut edges and welds.

Standards and Compliance

European Standards: EN 10025-6 (specifies technical delivery conditions).

Certifications: May include CE marking, NACE MR0175 (for sour gas environments), or Lloyd's Register approvals for marine applications.
