Mechanical Properties

 

Yield Strength: The yield strength of CCS/D32 is at least 315 MPa. Yield strength is an important property as it indicates the stress level at which the material begins to deform plastically. Structures made from this steel can maintain their shape under normal working loads up to the yield strength value.

Elongation: It has an elongation percentage of around 22% (after fracture). This shows that the steel plate has good ductility, meaning it can undergo a significant amount of plastic deformation before breaking. This property is beneficial for withstanding dynamic loads and impacts that are common in marine environments.

Corrosion Resistance

Compared to some ordinary steel plates, CCS/D32 steel plate has better corrosion - resistance properties. The alloying elements such as nickel and chromium contribute to the formation of a passive film on the steel surface, which can protect the steel from corrosion caused by seawater, salt spray, and other corrosive substances in the marine environment. However, for long - term and more effective corrosion protection, additional anti - corrosion measures such as coating with suitable marine - grade paints are often still required.
