According to different performance and impact test temperature and other factors, shipbuilding steel plate CCS/DH40 can be divided into the following grades:

 

Ordinary grade DH40: This is the most basic DH40 grade, with high yield strength and tensile strength, which can meet the use requirements of general ship structures. Its yield strength is usually not less than 390 MPa (megapascals), and the tensile strength is between 510 MPa and 660 MPa.

Z-direction performance grade: Based on DH40, the requirements for the performance in the thickness direction of the steel plate, that is, Z-direction performance, are added. For example, DH40-Z15, DH40-Z25, DH40-Z35, etc. The numbers behind indicate the anti-layered tearing performance grade of the steel plate in the thickness direction. The larger the number, the better the anti-layered tearing performance. This grade of steel plate is suitable for parts of ship structures that have higher requirements for performance in the thickness direction, such as thick plate welded structures of large ships.

Different impact temperature grades:

DH40 (normal temperature impact): Impact tests are conducted at normal temperature and are suitable for ship parts with low requirements for low-temperature impact performance or ship structures used in normal temperature environments.

DH40 (-20°C impact): This is a relatively common impact test temperature grade for DH40 steel plates. It can meet the use requirements of ships in a lower temperature environment and ensure that the steel plate still has good toughness and impact resistance in cold sea areas or low-temperature working conditions.

DH40 (-40°C impact) and lower temperature impact grades: For ships operating in extremely cold sea areas or special low-temperature environments, DH40 steel plates with lower impact test temperature grades may be needed, such as impact performance requirements at -40°C or even lower temperatures to ensure the safety and reliability of ship structures.
