Forming Process

 

Forging Process Adjustment: When forging KF47 products with high - hardness requirements, due to the greater deformation resistance of the material, a higher forging temperature and greater forging pressure are required. If the forging temperature is too high, it may cause grain growth and affect product performance, so the temperature range needs to be strictly controlled. For example, the forging temperature of ordinary carbon steel may be 1200 - 1250℃, while for KF47 products with high - hardness requirements, the forging temperature may be adjusted to 1230 - 1280℃. At the same time, the forging ratio also needs to be reasonably controlled. Generally, the forging ratio is between 3 - 5 to ensure the uniform internal structure of the product and improve hardness and strength.

 

Casting Process Optimization: If the casting process is used to produce high - hardness KF47 products, attention should be paid to the dissolution and uniform distribution of alloy elements. During the pouring process, the pouring temperature and speed should be controlled to avoid compositional segregation. For example, the pouring temperature may be 30 - 50℃ higher than that of ordinary products to ensure the full dissolution of alloy elements. At the same time, an appropriate pouring speed and gate design should be adopted to make the liquid metal evenly fill the mold cavity and prevent the hardness from being affected due to the enrichment or depletion of alloy elements in local areas.

 

Heat - treatment Process

 

Quenching Treatment: Quenching is a key heat - treatment process for increasing product hardness. For KF47 products with high - hardness requirements, an appropriate quenching temperature and cooling medium need to be selected. The quenching temperature is determined according to the material's composition (especially the alloy element content) and is generally higher than that of ordinary products. For example, the quenching temperature of ordinary carbon steel may be 800 - 850℃, while KF47 products may need to be quenched at 850 - 900℃. The selection of the cooling medium is also important. Common cooling media include oil, water, and brine. For products with high - hardness requirements, brine with a faster cooling rate may be selected as the cooling medium, but it is necessary to prevent the product from cracking due to the too - fast cooling rate.

Forming Process

 

Forging Parameter Setting: When forging KF47 products with medium - hardness, the forging temperature and pressure are slightly lower than those of high - hardness products. The forging temperature is generally around 1150 - 1200℃, and the forging ratio is between 2 - 4. In this way, the material can be smoothly formed, and the uniformity of the internal structure of the material can be maintained to meet the medium - hardness requirements.

 

Casting Process Detail Control: When using the casting process, the control of the pouring temperature and speed is not as strict as that of high - hardness products, but the uniform distribution of alloy elements still needs to be ensured. The pouring temperature is generally 10 - 30℃ higher than that of ordinary products, and the pouring speed should be moderate to ensure that the liquid metal can smoothly fill the mold cavity and avoid defects such as pores and inclusions, which may affect the product's hardness and other properties.

Heat - treatment Process

 

Quenching Temperature and Cooling Control: The quenching temperature of medium - hardness products is relatively low, generally around 800 - 830℃. The cooling medium can be oil or water - soluble quenching medium, and such a cooling rate can enable the product to obtain a medium hardness. For example, oil - cooling can make the product obtain a more uniform structure and medium hardness and avoid the generation of excessive internal stress due to the too - fast cooling rate.

 

Avoid Excessive Hard - phase - forming Elements: The addition amount of elements that are prone to form hard phases should be minimized. For example, the content of elements such as chromium and molybdenum should be reduced because these elements are easy to form carbides and other hard phases, which will increase the material's hardness and do not meet the low - hardness requirements.

 

Forming Process

 

Gentle Forging Process: When forging KF47 products with low - hardness, a lower forging temperature and pressure are adopted to avoid work - hardening of the material. The forging temperature is generally around 1000 - 1100℃, and the forging ratio is between 1.5 - 3.
