LR Marine Steel Plate Grade E has a certain anti-corrosion effect, which is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Chemical composition design:

 

 

Addition of alloying elements: It contains an appropriate amount of alloying elements such as manganese and silicon. Manganese element can improve the strength and toughness of steel, and at the same time enhance the corrosion resistance of steel to a certain extent. It can react with impurities such as oxygen and sulfur in steel to form relatively stable compounds and reduce the corrosion effect of these impurities on steel. Silicon element can enhance the oxidation resistance and acid resistance of steel. In the marine environment, it can resist the erosion of seawater and dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide and other substances in seawater on steel.

Role of aluminum element: The aluminum content is not less than 0.015%. Aluminum can form a dense aluminum oxide film on the surface of steel. This oxide film has good stability and corrosion resistance and can prevent external oxygen, moisture and other corrosive substances from contacting the interior of steel and play a role in protecting steel.
Production process control:

Strict quality control: During the production process, through strict quality control and inspection, ensure that the chemical composition and organizational structure of the steel are uniform and stable. A smooth surface can reduce the adhesion and accumulation of corrosive substances on the steel surface and reduce the occurrence probability of corrosion.
However, the anti-corrosion effect of LR Marine Steel Plate Grade E is relative. In a harsh marine environment for a long time, other anti-corrosion measures such as painting, galvanizing, and cathodic protection still need to be taken to further improve the anti-corrosion performance of the steel.
