Superior Intergranular Corrosion Resistance

Low-Carbon Design: C ≤ 0.03% prevents precipitation of Cr₂₃C₆ carbides at sensitization temperatures (450–850°C), avoiding grain boundary chromium depletion without needing stabilization (e.g., Ti, Nb addition).

Weldability: Maintains intergranular corrosion resistance after welding, suitable for on-site fabrication of chemical vessels and pipelines.

 

 

Oxidation & High-Temperature Corrosion Resistance

In oxidation environments ≤500°C, high chromium (Cr ≈23%) forms a dense Cr₂O₃ oxide film, blocking oxygen penetration. Applications include flue gas desulfurization (FGD) units and heat exchangers.
