High-Strength Alloy Wear-Resistant Clad Steel Plate
High-strength alloy wear-resistant clad steel plate is a composite material formed by combining a high-strength wear-resistant alloy layer with a tough base material through special processes. It integrates excellent wear resistance and structural strength, and is widely used in industrial fields with severe wear conditions. Its core feature is that "the wear-resistant layer resists wear, while the base material bears loads and absorbs impacts", achieving long-term durability through the complementarity of material properties.
I. Structural Composition and Cladding Processes
Double-Layer Structural Design
Wear-Resistant Layer: The surface is made of materials such as high-chromium cast iron, chromium carbide (Cr₃C₂) alloy, or nickel-based alloys, containing alloying elements like chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V), and niobium (Nb). It forms hard phases (carbides, borides) with a hardness of 55-65 HRC, directly enduring material scouring and abrasive wear.
Base Material: Mostly low-carbon steel (e.g., Q235) or low-alloy high-strength steel (e.g., Q355), with low hardness (≤200 HB) but excellent toughness (impact energy ≥20 J). It is responsible for bearing structural loads, absorbing impact energy, and preventing overall fracture.
Cladding Processes
Overlay Welding Cladding: The wear-resistant alloy layer is deposited on the base material surface via submerged arc welding, open arc welding, etc. It features high bonding strength (≥300 MPa) and is suitable for large-area plate production.
Explosive Cladding: High pressure generated by explosive detonation enables metallurgical bonding between the wear-resistant layer and base material under high temperature and pressure. The bonding interface is free of brittle phases, making it suitable for cladding with thick wear-resistant layers (≥5mm).
Hot-Rolled Cladding: The two layers are rolled together at high temperatures, ensuring stable processes and suitability for mass production of thin-gauge clad plates (wear-resistant layer thickness: 1-3mm).
