Refining Equipment Heating System:
In refining equipment such as the ladle furnace (LF), an electrode - heating system is usually adopted. By adjusting the current and voltage of the electrodes, the heat input into the molten steel can be precisely controlled. For example, in an LF furnace, the power of the electrodes is adjusted according to the initial temperature, target temperature, and the volume of the molten steel. If the temperature of the molten steel is low and a rapid temperature increase is required, the electrode power can be appropriately increased so that the molten steel reaches the temperature range required for refining in a shorter period.

Heat Balance Consideration during the Refining Process:
During the refining process, various factors that affect the temperature of the molten steel should be considered to maintain heat balance. For example, when adding refining slag, since the temperature of the refining slag may be different from that of the molten steel, the temperature of the molten steel will change. If the temperature of the refining slag is low, the temperature of the molten steel will decrease after adding it. Therefore, before adding the refining slag, it needs to be pre - heated, or the power of the heating system should be adjusted according to the amount and temperature of the refining slag added to keep the temperature of the molten steel stable. In addition, chemical reactions in the molten steel also generate heat, such as deoxidation reactions.
