Influence of Rolling Process
Change in Reduction Ratio: During the rolling process, thinner steel plates undergo a relatively larger reduction ratio, which refines the grains inside the steel and increases the dislocation density, thereby increasing the yield strength. As the thickness increases, the reduction ratio during rolling decreases, the degree of internal grain refinement is reduced, and the dislocation density is also relatively small, which may lead to a decrease in yield strength.
Uneven Rolling Temperature: When rolling thicker steel plates, due to the large thickness of the steel plates, heat transfer is relatively slow, which may lead to an uneven temperature distribution inside the steel plates during the rolling process. The surface temperature is lower, while the internal temperature is higher. Influence of Residual Stress
