Correlation between Mechanical Properties and Weldability
High Yield Strength and Tensile Strength: The yield strength of F32 - grade steel plates is generally not less than 315MPa, and the tensile strength is between 440 - 570MPa. This higher strength requires the matching of corresponding welding materials and processes during welding to ensure that the welded joint can bear the stress equivalent to that of the base material. If the welding process is improper, such as excessive heat input during welding, it may lead to a reduction in the strength of the welded joint and fail to meet the same mechanical performance requirements as the base material.
Good Toughness Requirement: To meet the requirements of the offshore engineering service environment, F32 - grade steel plates need to have good toughness. During the welding process, it is necessary to prevent the toughness from decreasing due to welding process problems.
