The hardness testing methods for high-strength shipbuilding steel plates mainly include: Vickers hardness test.
Testing principle:
Using a regular quadrangular pyramid diamond indenter with a relative face angle of 136°, press it into the surface of the sample under the specified test force. After maintaining for a certain period of time, remove the test force and measure the length of the diagonal of the indentation.
Calculate the Vickers hardness value (HV) according to the length of the diagonal of the indentation. The formula is HV = 0.1891F/d², where F is the test force and d is the average length of the diagonal of the indentation.
Scope of application:
Suitable for high-strength shipbuilding steel plates in various hardness ranges. Especially for materials with higher hardness, the Vickers hardness test has high precision.
