Cr12 is an alloy tool steel with good hardenability and excellent wear resistance. It is mainly used for cold stamping dies and punches, cold cutting scissors, drill bushes, gauges, wire drawing dies, embossing dies, thread rolling dies, drawing dies, and thread rolling dies that bear small impact loads and require high wear resistance.

Application Scope

It is a widely used cold-work die steel, featuring high strength, good hardenability, and excellent wear resistance, but with poor impact toughness.

 

Cr12 die steel belongs to high-carbon high-chromium ledeburite steel and is also a widely used cold-work die steel. It has good hardenability, wear resistance, and hot workability. The carbides in the steel are well distributed, making it suitable for manufacturing various cold-work dies with complex shapes and heavy working conditions, such as cold stamping die punches, thread rolling dies, wire drawing dies, material dies, metallurgical powder dies, woodworking cutting tools, cold cutting scissors, drill bushes, and gauges. During development, through repeated exploration and experiments, a reasonable smelting process, special ingot molds, and forging processes were formulated to achieve uniform material structure.
