GH3128 is a Ni-Cr based solid-solution strengthened wrought superalloy, with a service temperature below 950℃. The alloy is solid-solution strengthened by adding 16% (mass fraction) of (W + Mo), and elements such as boron, cerium and zirconium are added to purify and strengthen the grain boundaries. It exhibits high plasticity, relatively high rupture and creep strength, as well as good oxidation resistance and process performance like stamping and welding. Its comprehensive performance is superior to other similar Ni-based solid-solution strengthened alloys such as GH3044 and GH3536. It is suitable for manufacturing components such as combustion chamber flame tubes and afterburner casings of aero-engines that work for a long time at 950℃. The main products include cold-rolled sheets, hot-rolled plates, bars, forgings, wires and pipes.

GH3128 alloy has been used in the manufacture of aero-engine flame tubes, diffusers, afterburners, tail nozzles, regulating vanes, stabilizers, diffusers and gas ducts, with good mass production and application performance. The alloy has also been extended to applications in structural parts under high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres, such as thermocouple protection tubes, fluxgates, magnetometer probes, skeleton materials, boats for W and Mo reduction sintering, and precombustion chamber nozzles of railway locomotives. When parts work at high temperatures, W-2 enamel coating can be used for effective protection. The alloy may precipitate μ phase after long-term aging.
