Forming Processing

Cold Bending:
Suitable for thin plates (1-6 mm). Plates are bent into right angles, arcs, etc., using a bending machine at room temperature. The bending radius must be adjusted according to the plate's yield strength (e.g., high-strength alloy steel plates require a larger radius to avoid cracking). For plates thicker than 4 mm, multi-step bending can be used to reduce springback. After bending, check for surface scratches or cracks, and perform surface grinding if necessary.

Hot Bending:
Suitable for thick plates (6-12 mm) or high-strength alloy steel plates. Plates are heated to 700-900°C (specific temperatures vary by material; e.g., Cr-Mo alloy steel plates are typically heated to 800-850°C) before bending. This reduces bending resistance and avoids cracking during cold bending. After heating, the plates should be cooled slowly (e.g., air cooling or furnace cooling) to prevent deformation caused by thermal stress.

Stamping:
Primarily used for ultra-thin plates (1-3 mm). Irregular parts (e.g., flanges, grooves) are formed using dies. Appropriate stamping speed and die clearance must be selected to prevent tensile fracture or surface scuffing. For high-strength alloy steel plates containing chromium or molybdenum, softening heat treatment (e.g., annealing) can be performed before stamping to improve material ductility.
